Gegharkunik (Armenian: Գեղարքունիք; known as Bashkend until 1946), is a village in the Gegharkunik Province of Armenia. It was founded in 1828 by emigrants primarily from Beyazid. In the village is a small church, and a simple S. Gevorg church on the hill nearby.[1]
