Halfway Inn, Halfway, Berkshire

Halfway is a hamlet in the civil parish of Welford (where the 2011 Census population was included) in the English county of Berkshire. It is located in the district of West Berkshire and the Newbury parliamentary constituency. It is called halfway because it is situated half way between Newbury and Hungerford on the A4 road. It also so called as it is halfway between London and Bristol.

Notable buildings

It used to be the site of a folly-type building in the shape of a mock castle which was demolished in the 1960s. It was also the site of 'The Old Green Man' public house, sometimes known as 'The Halfway'. The Halfway Inn is now a Gastropub.[1]
