"I'm Going to Go Back There Someday" is an original song written by Kenneth Ascher and Paul Williams for The Muppet Movie. The Muppets get stranded in the desert, and as night falls they sit around a campfire. Gonzo recalls his experience flying and expresses his longing to return to the sky in song, while Rowlf the Dog accompanies him on harmonica.
In 1999, Gonzo (Dave Goelz) re-recorded the song for Muppets from Space. Although the song is not heard in the movie, it is included in the soundtrack.
The song was one of Jim Henson's favorites, and Gonzo's performer, Dave Goelz performed it at Henson's memorial.
Fred Penner recorded a cover of the song for his album "Moonlight Express".
