"I'm Just a Woman"
Song
B-side"Sitting on the Edge of the Ocean"

"I'm Just a Woman" is a song by Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler, released as a single from her 1980 album Goodbye to the Island by RCA Records. It was written by Tyler's at-the-time managers Ronnie Scott and Steve Wolfe. The B-side was the Spanish version of her previous single "Sitting on the Edge of the Ocean", titled "Sola a la Orilla del Mar".

The song failed to chart worldwide, featuring on the last album Tyler released with RCA Records, and the second-to-last single from that era of her career.

Background and release

After the release of her album Diamond Cut in 1979, Tyler's successful career began to decline.[1] Tyler travelled to Vilhamoura in south Portugal to record her fourth studio album, Goodbye to the Island, which was released in 1980.[1] The first single "I Believe in Your Sweet Love" was released in September 1979, which did not garner any chart success and was followed by almost a year's hiatus before "I'm Just a Woman" was released in the United Kingdom. The single was the first of Tyler's singles to be given a picture sleeve in the United Kingdom.[1]
