Interspecies Reviewers (異種族レビュアーズ, Ishuzoku Rebyuāzu) is a Japanese manga series written by Amahara and illustrated by masha. It has been serialized in Fujimi Shobo's shōnen magazine Monthly Dragon Age since July 2016, with its chapters collected in four tankōbon volumes as of January 2020. An anime television series adaptation by Passione premiered in Japan on January 11, 2020.

Plot

In a world where many different humanoid species exist and prostitution is legal, there exists various brothels for each kind of species run by "Succu-girls". As each species has different opinions on how each prostitute works for them, various brothel visitors have become reviewers, rating their experiences with various Succu-girls and posting them in the local tavern. The series largely centers on a human named Stunk, an elf named Zel, and an angel named Crimvael.

A male human adventurer and one of the reviewers. He values appearance when it comes to succu-girls.
Zel (ゼル, Zeru)

A male elf adventurer and one of the reviewers. He values succu-girls that have a high mana level.
Crimvael (クリムヴェール, Kurimuvēru)
Voiced by: Miyu Tomita[1] (Japanese); Brittney Karbowski (English)
An angel with a broken halo who is rescued by Stunk and Zel and works at the Ale & Eats. Although Crimvael possess both male and female genitalia, Crimvael chooses to identify as the former in order to avoid unwanted attention from Stunk and Zel.

A middle-aged female human prostitute. Despite her physical appearance, she is a favorite of Zel due to her high levels of mana.
Mii (みー, Mī)

A catgirl prostitute.
Okpa (オクパ, Okupa)
Voiced by: Mari Hino[1]
A prostitute with tentacles. Zel refers to her as a "dagon".

A birdmaid prostitute.

The series is written by Amahara (天原) and illustrated by masha. It was launched as a one-shot in Fujimi Shobo's shōnen manga magazine Monthly Dragon Age in July 2016.[2] Yen Press announced their license to the series during their panel at Sakura-Con on March 31, 2018.[2]

Anime

On June 28, 2019, Kadokawa announced that the manga would receive an anime television series adaptation. The series is directed by Yuki Ogawa and written by Kazuyuki Fudeyasu, with character designs by Makoto Uno. Animation for the series is provided by studio Passione. Kotone Uchihigashi is composing the series' music.[1] The series premiered on January 11, 2020 on AT-X, Tokyo MX, KBS, SUN, and BS11.[11] Junji Majima, Yūsuke Kobayashi, and Miyu Tomita performed the series' opening theme song "Ikōze☆Paradise" (イこうぜ☆パラダイス), as well the series' ending theme song "Hanabira Ondo" (ハナビラ音頭).[12] The series will run for 12 episodes.[13] The series was originally licensed by Funimation, who simulcast the first three episodes with subtitles and the first episode with an English dub.[14][15] However, on January 31, 2020, the series was removed from their website due to it being labeled as being outside of the company's standards.[16] In February 2020, French streaming service Wakanim have agreed to continue streaming the series starting with the fourth episode.[17]

In a world where prostitution is legal and there are as many brothels as there are species, Stunk the human and Zel the elf argue over who is better between a 500-year old elf woman and a 50-year old human, asking friends from other species to give reviews on them. The two soon rescue an angel named Crimvael, marking their new friendship by treating them to a catgirl brothel. As Crimvael takes up a job at the Ale & Eats tavern, Stunk and the others takes inspiration from the tavern's owner, Maydry, and try out a birdwoman brothel, firmly establishing themselves as Interspecies Reviewers.

Stunk and the others check out a fairy brothel, only to discover that their small size means they are limited to each person can hire. During election campaigns, a representative of the Demon Party asks the Reviewers to visit a demon brothel in the hopes of improving the image of demons. However, they get distracted and end up reviewing a minotaur brothel instead.

Deciding to experience what it's like to be women, Stunk, Zel, Crimvael and Kanchal all visit it a genderswap inn, where they take a potion that transforms them into girls. As each reviewer tries out their new bodies with affiliated prostitutes with varying results, Crimvael raises eyebrows when they hire a hyena girl.

The reviewers discover a backalley brothel that is priced extremely low due to the deadly nature of the ravenous pure-bred succubi. Ignoring all warnings, Stunk, Zel and wolfman Bruise all jump into the fray, quickly coming to regret it. While running an errand in the volcanic region, the reviewers stop by a store where they can eat food off of fiery hot salamander women.

In August 2017, the manga won the DLsite award in Da Vinci Magzine and Niconico's Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Awards.[19]
