Jupiters Darling is the thirteenth studio album by the American rock band Heart, released in 2004 through the label Sovereign Artists. Sovereign Artist's Marketing Director, Paul Angles, simultaneously released their album via file sharing networks,[7] which were included in an amicus brief to the US Supreme Court.[8] Two promo singles were released simultaneously with the album: "The Oldest Story in the World" which peaked at No. 22 on the Mainstream Rock Chart[9] and "The Perfect Goodbye".[10] Heart performed the song "The Perfect Goodbye" with country star Wynonna Judd on CMT's Crossroads in the summer of 2004.[11]

This album continued the move back to Heart's hard rock and folk rock roots, although only peaking at number 94 on the U.S. Billboard 200[12] [13]Since then the Sovereign Artists record company closed and stopped doing business. It has been reported (via band sources on www.heart-music.com) that Sovereign still owes Heart thousands of dollars.[citation needed] This album has no RIAA certification. The album cover bears an image of the Mandelbrot set, rotated so the main cardioid is oriented the same way a heart would normally be, with the cusp at top. The album cover art is seen briefly in the 2005 film Elizabethtown, for which Nancy Wilson did soundtrack music, and at the time was married to the film's director/screenwriter Cameron Crowe.
