Kron Gracie (born July 11, 1988) is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner and a member of the Gracie family. He is the youngest son of Rickson Gracie and grandson of Helio Gracie.[1][2] He is currently under contract with Rizin Fighting Federation.[3]

Biography

Kron Gracie was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu master Rickson Gracie. He began his training under his father as a child. In 2008, at the age of 19, he received his black belt from his father.[4]

Personal life

Kron is the youngest of four children to Rickson Gracie and grandson of the late Helio Gracie. He has two older sisters Kauan and Kaulin. In 2000, Kron’s older brother Rockson died of an overdose in New York City.[5]

When not competing he teaches jiu-jitsu at his school in Culver City, California[6] and helps run his father's association.[7]

Mixed martial arts career

Prior to Kron Gracie's career debut in MMA, he was featured in 2010 Mixed Martial Arts-game EA Sports MMA as a playable character, along with fellow Gracie-family member Roger Gracie.[8]

On February 24, 2014, Kron announced his intention to pursue an MMA career.[9] He made his mixed martial arts debut on December 23, 2014,[10] facing fellow MMA debutant Hyung Soo-Kim at Real Fighting Championship: Real 1.[11] Gracie won the fight via armbar, sixty-five seconds into the first round.[12]

Rizin FF

Kron fought on December 31, 2015 at Rizin Fighting Federation World Tournament.[13] He faced Asen Yamamoto and won the fight by submission via triangle choke in the first round.[14]
