Currently this seat belongs to Independent candidate Raghuraj Pratap Singh (Raja Bhaiya) who won in last Assembly election of 2017 Uttar Pradesh Lagislative Elections defeating Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Janaki Sharan by a huge margin of 1,03,647 votes.

Since 1993 it has been represented as MLA by Raghuraj Pratap Singh, an independent politician.
