Louis Robert Paul Ducruet (born November 26, 1992) is the son of Princess Stéphanie of Monaco and Daniel Ducruet who were married in a civil ceremony on July 1, 1995. His sister Pauline Grace Ducruet was born on May 4, 1994. Ducruet has a half-brother Michaël, and a half-sister Camille Marie.[1] Although he holds no title, he is a grandson of Rainier III, Prince of Monaco, and American actress Grace Kelly. As nephew of Prince Albert II, he is currently 13th in the line of succession to the Monegasque throne. Ducruet is a soccer fan and supports the AS Monaco FC team with great enthusiasm. He is fluent in French and English and Monegasque. He also speaks some German, Italian and Japanese.

Early life

For the first six or seven years of his life, he lived with his parents in Monaco-Ville. His parents were married in 1995, but divorced a year later.[2] For a couple of years, he lived in Auron, France, then he moved with his mother and sisters to the Zurich area.[3] For about two years, his mother was involved with the elephant trainer Franco Knie.[4] After 2002, he and his mother and sisters returned to live in Monaco, where they live today.[4]

Education

Ducruet attended primary school in Auron. He then attended the Lycée Français de Zurich. He completed secondary schooling at Lycée Albert Premier, where he passed the Baccalauréat in 2010, with a mark of "Admis"[5]. He started his post-secondary education at Skema Business School in Sophia Antipolis, France.[6] In 2015, he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Sports Management at Western Carolina University, in Cullowhee, North Carolina.[6]

Personal Life

On February 12th, 2018, Ducruet announced his engagement to long-time girlfriend, Ms. Marie Hoa Chevallier.[7]

Career

Immediately after secondary school, he took a summer job in the water sports department of Société des bains de mer de Monaco. He did several internships for AS Monaco and today works for the same as a scout.[8] As of March 2016, Ducruet and his father, Daniel Ducruet, are co-managers of the Monaco-based company MONADECO.[9]

Other interests

In 2013, Ducruet participated in the "4L Trophy" automobile race. The race covered 6000km, with starting points from Poitiers to Saint-Jean-de-Luz, and tracked over France, Spain, and Morocco. Ducruet and his co-driver, Ronan Imbrosciano, drove a car that was decorated in the colors and emblem of Radio Monaco. The money raised from the event provides school supplies to poor Moroccan students.[10]
