Matthew Kent Olson (born March 29, 1994) is an American professional baseball first baseman in the Oakland Athletics organization.

Career

Olson attended Parkview High School in Lilburn, Georgia.[1] He was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the first round of the 2012 Major League Baseball draft.[2][3] He made his professional debut that season for the Arizona League Athletics and also played for the Vermont Lake Monsters that season. He played in 50 games and hit .282/.352/.521 with nine home runs.

In 2013, Olson played for the Beloit Snappers.[4] In 134 games, he hit only .225/.326/.435 but with 23 home runs and 93 runs batted in (RBI). Olson started 2014 with the Stockton Ports.[5] Throughout the season he was among the home run leaders in Minor League Baseball.[6] He played the 2015 season with the Double-A Midland RockHounds. Olson began the 2016 season with the Triple-A Nashville Sounds.
