Calling Kyrgyz as Kirghiz is wrong, because Kirghiz was adopted from Russian language, which is not right. It's similar to call Russian as Orus (Russian man or language in Kyrgyz) in English language. Kirghiz in Russian and Kyrgyz in English. undo Tags: Visual edit Mobile edit Mobile web edit

This location even has large caves which confirm the origin. It has nothing to do with the Pecheneg people. I suspect the toponyms from the slavic countries also derive from Proto-Slavic/peťь, I will let someone else correct this who knows more about the local history. undo
