Penguin Highway (ペンギン・ハイウェイ, Pengin Haiwei, stylized penguin highway) is a Japanese fantasy[1] novel written by Tomihiko Morimi. It was published in 2010 by Kadokawa Shoten and won the 2010 Nihon SF Taisho Award.[2]

The novel will be published in English by Yen Press.[3]

An anime film adaptation by Studio Colorido was released in Japanese theaters on August 17, 2018.[4] The film's theme song is "Good Night", performed by Utada Hikaru.[4]

Anime Limited acquired the film for the United Kingdom and Ireland, and would premiere it at Scotland Loves Anime on October 13, 2018,[5] with a wider theatrical run scheduled for 2019.[6] Madman Entertainment announced that they would premiere the film in Australia and New Zealand at Madman Anime Festival Melbourne in September 2018, with a wider release scheduled later.[7] Eleven Arts acquired the film for North American theatrical distribution, and premiered it at Crunchyroll Expo in San Jose on September 2, 2018.[8]
