Achada Tenda is a settlement in the northern part of the island of Santiago, Cape Verde. Its 2010 population was 1,242 making it the third most populated place in the municipality. It is situated on the east coast, 10 km southeast of Tarrafal. The small bay Porto Formoso is situated near the settlement.

Achada Tenda is also a small volcanic plateau that give its name to the village.

At the bay, Porto Formoso was mentioned in the 1747 French/Dutch map by Jacques Nicolas Bellin.[2]
