Rosario Tijeras is a Mexican telenovela created by Adriana Pelusi and Carlos Quintanilla that premiered on Azteca 13 on 30 October 2016. It stars Bárbara de Regil as the titular character.[3] The series follows the life of a young student with behavior problems who suffers abuse and abuses by her stepfather and decides to start making her life on the wrong path to drugs and take revenge on all who hurt her.[3]

The series is produced by Teleset for Sony Pictures Television and TV Azteca.[4] It is based on the Colombian drama of the same name produced in 2010 and starring María Fernanda Yépez.[5]

On 31 January 2017, TV Azteca confirmed that the show has been renewed for a second season, that premiered on 27 August 2018.[6][7]

The series tells the story of a warrior from one of the poorest and most dangerous neighborhoods in Mexico City. Her beauty and nobility contrast with the gray and desolate environment where she grew. She is feared by her enemies and adored by her friends. Although Rosario is one of the toughest women, in Mexico she has a soft spot when it come to the people close to her which include Antonio Betancourt and Emilio Echegaray.
