Suzanne Bernert is a German-born actress who works primarily in India films in various languages.[1][2][3] She has acted in films like No Problem, Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. and television serials like 7 RCR and Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai.[4][5][6][7][8][9] She speaks French, Italian, Spanish and Hindi.[10][11][12] Currently, she is also working in Colors TV's historical serial Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat and has received praise for it.[13][14]
Early life and career
Bernert comes from Detmold in Germany. Her mother Monika, and father Michael, live in Lindau, Germany. When she was 16, she did a three year acting course.[15] She studied acting under Heidelotte Diehl in Berlin, Germany and is a trained ballet dancer.[citation needed] She also did a course with American producer and actress Susan Batson in Berlin.[citation needed] Suzanne worked in a film Destined Hearts with an Indian filmmaker Anant Duseja in 2003 which was shot entirely in Dubai.[16] The film is still unreleased.[17] She moved to Mumbai in 2005.[citation needed] Bernert first came to notice in India in role of a foreigner bahu 'Doris Bajaj' in Star Plus serial Kasautii Zindagii Kay.[16][18] She has also worked in Bengali and Marathi films and serials.[19][20] Bernert has worked with Aamir Khan in a Titan ad.[21] She is also running a theater group Vijeta with her husband Akhil. She promoted Jaipur tourism by acting in a short film titled 'Atithi Devo Bhav'.[22][23]
Personal life
Suzanne's birthday is on 26 September. Bernert married actor Akhil Mishra in a civil court on 3 February 2009.[24] They married again in a traditional way on 30 September 2011.[25][26][27] She had worked with him in movie Kram and serial Mera Dil Dewaana (Doordarshan).[28] She holds Persons of Indian Origin Card (PIO Card).
Humanitarian work
Bernert is involved with an Indian-based social service organization, Sulabh International and did a short film for United Nations.[citation needed]
