Republican leader

[edit]

Seeing as Ford wasn't elected House Minority Leader until 1965, when the new Congress was sworn in, is it accurate to list him in the infobox as the Republican Party's electoral leader? — Preceding unsigned comment added by -A-M-B-1996- (talkcontribs) 22:29, 10 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sources

[edit]

This is going to look stupid, and maybe I'm missing something obvious - but do we actually have a source for the returns listed here? I'm sure they're accurate, and that there's some public domain source for all of the votes and data, but we should probably post that in the article. need an additional entry for Separate Elections

[edit]

This refers to the election of a representative who presumably took office Jan. 22, 1963. The previous representative had been re-elected POSTHUMOUSLY in Nov. 1962. It's in California's 1st District:

>[Don} Clausen was elected as a Republican to the Eighty-eighth Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the death of United States Representative Clement Woodnutt Miller (who had been re-elected posthumously), and to the nine succeeding Congresses (January 22, 1963-January 3, 1983). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.63.16.20 (talk) 15:00, 30 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
