Name change[edit]

I suggest we should change the name of this article to Alberta Progressive Conservative leadership election, 2006. I am suggestion we remove Party from the title because the organization is not called the "Alberta Progressive Conservative Party" but rather the "Progressive Conservative Association of Alberta". Progressive Conservative Association of Alberta leadership election, 2006 would be cumbersome and not the most common title people would look for, so the aforementioned Alberta Progressive Conservative leadership election, 2006 seems a good alternative. If there are no complaints, I'll make the move - Jord 20:22, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fine with me. Homey 21:12, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

preferential voting[edit]

"... second round, in which preferential voting will be used..." What form of preferential voting? Instant run-off? Tompw 22:37, 24 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please, wait[edit]

We must remember, the new PC Leader of Alberta dosen't become Premier immediately. We should wait until the Premier-Designate takes office, before we list him as the 13th Premier of Alberta. GoodDay 00:15, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just curious, what time do the polls close? Bearcat 02:28, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I believe 11:00 EST, that's 7:00 PM in Alberta. I thinks this information is in the article. GoodDay 02:45, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, sorry, missed that. MST is only two hours behind EST, though, not four — so if they close at 7 p.m. Alberta time, then that's 9:00 EST and they've been closed for an hour. Bearcat 03:07, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Oops, I meant to say 11:00 AST. Sorry about that. GoodDay 15:16, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, okay, gotcha now. Just wanted to congratulate everyone for doing a great job keeping on top of the numbers, by the way...I noticed that there was a really wild discrepancy among the various news sites in terms of how promptly they got updated, so congrats to everyone for doing a great job, and for keeping an eye on multiple sources, and all of that.
