why

[edit]

are all the links to supporting articles hidden? Is this prescedent? Kripto 00:47, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

By supporting articles I assume you mean external links to news sources. This is because most or all of the news events were copied from the news pane of the New Zealand portal, which initially didn't have these links at all but had links to Wikipedia articles (most of the time) which had been updated to reflect the news event. This is following the policy of the Main Page news pane. I started adding the commented out links to improve traceability of stories, and because the stories were also copied to Current events in Oceania (now defunct), which followed the Portal:Current events standard of requiring external links for stories. It was easy to add the commented-out link for the New Zealand portal page, and then remove the comment glyphs when copying it to the Oceania page. There is no reason why this page shouldn't restore the external links, although some of them may have expired by now.-gadfium 04:56, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just meant, do all the links for 2007 in New Zealand need blanking. Mercifully, the answer appears to be no. 23:15, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Opposition

[edit]

I see Peter Dunne (who I voted for) gets on the page both as a Government Minister AND as an Opposition leader! Hugo999 (talk) 06:01, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
