2018–19 Independence Cup2018 Independence Cup (Bangladesh)Posted by Koppapa in the previous RM, the official name was Walton Independence Cup 2018, however, we usually drop the sponsor title, as well as we follow the main article which located in Independence Cup (Bangladesh). 2018 Independence Cup and 2018–19 Independence Cup should be a disambiguation or a redirect to Independence Cup (disambiguation), as 2018 Lesotho Independence Cup, 2018 Independence Cup (Albania) are potential article title that may pass GNG and located in 2018–19 season. No it is not, please don't made false claim of sole source. Here is the primary source from Bangladesh Football Federation: clearly stating "Independence Cup 2018 – Standings". bracket is a must for disambiguation. And here is the news report: "Both the matches of the 13-team Walton Independence Cup Football Tournament 2018 ended in goalless draws at Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Saturday". Matthew hk (talk) 00:28, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The reference section contains only one reference. Existing references to the article are the ones to look at most importantly. The source you listed is not an independent source. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 04:00, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The photo provided by Koppapa, did not have 2018–19 but 2018. Please do not made false claim . Matthew hk (talk) 04:19, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
While the reference in the main text, was talking about 2018–19 Bangladesh Premier League (edit: the article was located in 2019 Bangladesh Football Premier League) and the related cup the Independence Cup, however, did not state the numbering of the season of the cup. Matthew hk (talk) 04:22, 1 February 2019 (UTC) (edited: 04:57, 1 February 2019 (UTC))[reply]
Lastly, the news report is an independent source. Matthew hk (talk) 04:23, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Except 2017 edition which was delayed to January 2018, thus it was being renamed to 2017–18 Independence Cup (Bangladesh) per primary source, the 2016 edition of the cup was 2016 Independence Cup (Bangladesh) according to secondary source, NOT 2016–17 which the league season the cup is related to . Matthew hk (talk) 04:26, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The ONLY explicitly sourced content in the article is the opening phrase "The 2018–19 Independence Cup[1]", and Ref[1] uses "2018–19 Independence Cup". You should take this as a challenge to improve the sourcing. Before supporting a title change that conflicts with the sole explicit reference, I would support AfD-ing the article. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 04:39, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Are well really on the same universe that have the same internet? Here is the full code of citation that mentioned.[1][2] And i can't find your hoax of claiming uses "2018–19 Independence Cup" phase in the news article. Matthew hk (talk) 04:45, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
OK, the source does not actually use "2018–19 Independence Cup", but refers to "The Bangladesh Premier League season". Can you add at least one source to the article that refers to the topic as the "2018 Independence Cup"? --SmokeyJoe (talk) 04:47, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I already provide the news article in "news report" above. Matthew hk (talk) 04:48, 1 February 2019 (UTC) (typo fixed. 05:15, 1 February 2019 (UTC))[reply]
OK, I'll support IF you add that reference with the banner "Independence Cup 2018" to the article. I didn't pay attention to your talkref below. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 04:53, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nom. A bit of difficulty due to me looking at the article reference list while Matthew talked about the talk page reference list. That sorted, suddenly it all makes sense. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 05:49, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
