Second single

Resolved

Adele confirmed during theBBC special that her second single would be When We Were Young.

http://www.digitalspy.com/music/news/a677027/adeles-next-single-will-apparently-be-when-we-were-young/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 5.151.174.83 (talk) 18:27, 19 November 2015 (UTC)

Apparently, not confirmed. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 18:33, 19 November 2015 (UTC)

Why is When We Were Young not an article yet? Too slow, Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.154.147.214 (talk) 20:44, 20 November 2015 (UTC) Another day later and still no article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.97.184.160 (talk) 03:30, 23 November 2015 (UTC)

Update: There is now an article for the song. It has not been confirmed as a single but has charted in many countries. ---Another Believer (Talk) 22:24, 30 November 2015 (UTC)

Image of Greg Kurstin

Resolved

I replaced the image of Madonna with one of Greg Kurstin, who actually worked on the album, but my edit was reverted. Can we discuss who would be more appropriate to illustrate, or find a way to include both? It makes more sense to picture people who worked on the album, not those who inspired the album. ---Another Believer (Talk) 23:54, 21 November 2015 (UTC)

Update: I re-added an image of Kurstin, then staggered the Madonna image to display below. Works for me, unless others still want to discuss which is more appropriate if two is too many. ---Another Believer (Talk) 23:57, 21 November 2015 (UTC)
My edit summary says it. If Greg Kurstin then why not the others? —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 23:57, 21 November 2015 (UTC)
Why not who others? I'd be fine with including additional images of people who worked on the album. ---Another Believer (Talk) 00:00, 22 November 2015 (UTC)

Record

On top of breaking the NSYNC record for most album sales in one week, the page should mention that she also broke the Britney Spears record of highest first week sales by a female artist (Spears held the record with Oops I Did It Again in 2000). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.59.106.25 (talk) 19:08, 24 November 2015 (UTC)

It did not take a week, it took closer to just three days of the sales week to surpass 'N Sync's record. Where the album was written

Reading this article, you'd think most of the album was written in the US. In an interview with Shad, and talking about the writing process, Adele said 'I'd done the whole record in England, pretty much'. Can we somehow get this into the page so it reflects what actually happened, ie the vast majority was written in the UK?

chart fact

"Adele breaks UK record for biggest second week album sales" http://www.musicweek.com/news/read/adele-breaks-uk-record-for-biggest-second-week-album-sales/063579 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.198.251.109 (talk) 19:33, 4 December 2015 (UTC) According to this source http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/6785931/adele-25-second-week-sales-us The final sales figures are in for the second week of Adele’s 25. Nielsen Music reports that it sold 1.11 million in pure album sales in the seven days ending Dec. 3 in the U.S. As earlier reported, 25 is now the first album to sell a million copies in two different weeks since Nielsen began tracking point-of-sale purchases in 1991. , so we need to change US'figure to 4,490,000 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.87.216.31 (talk) 02:37, 6 December 2015 (UTC)

BPI record reference doesn't work

British album certifications – Adele – 25". British Phonographic Industry. Retrieved 4 December 2015. Enter 25 in the field Keywords. Select Title in the field Search by. Select album in the field By Format. Select Platinum in the field By Award. Click Search

I go to http://www.bpi.co.uk/certified-awards/search.aspx and tried the instruction above. It's said "Please use standard letters and characters only. You must supply at least 3 characters in your search". How am I supposed to find the record of 25?--fireattack (talk) 05:55, 14 December 2015 (UTC)

Remedy sample

I believe that it is acceptable to use the sample of an album track. I have added lots of composition details, reception details, etc. The sample should not be removed without further discussion here. --MaranoFan (talk) 11:33, 28 December 2015 (UTC)

It is unacceptable since we should limit ourselves to usage of non-free content. Please familiarize yourself with WP:NFCC and not go overboard. You have already added samples for "Hello" and "WWWY" and thats enough to understand nuances about the songs on this album. You don't need a third sample. I'm also inviting J Milburn for this discussion. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 11:54, 28 December 2015 (UTC)
Can I make a suggestion? First of all, yes, I agree with IndianBio, having three samples in the article it's too much and fails the criteria. However, I read the caption for "Remedy" sample and it's pretty rational. I would suggest removing the "Hello" sample since it's not really helpful in the 25 article and it is also present in its own article. That's the best option according to me. — Tom(T2ME) 13:21, 28 December 2015 (UTC)
I am actually okay with Tom's suggestion. Even though I do think all of the three samples have merit in this very article, I think that the removal of the "Hello" sample from here would be the least detrimental to the reader, of the three. --MaranoFan (talk) 14:05, 28 December 2015 (UTC)
And I have temporarily removed the "Hello" sample, so that we don't have to display the "non-free" tag. When consensus is established, action can be taken accordingly. --MaranoFan (talk) 14:28, 28 December 2015 (UTC)
Yes I believe its better now. I would say still wait for Milburn to take a look into the article once. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 16:21, 28 December 2015 (UTC)

Adele plays in a league of its own. In the fifth week at retail '25' moved another unbelievable 2,505,000 copies, the second best result after its initial week. In the United States the album sold 1,16 million last week, in United Kingdom 449,900, in France 182,300, in Germany estimated 160,000, in Canada 152,800, and in Australia 91,100. Till to the deadline for this week's hitlist (December 24), '25' sold a total of stellar 14,232,000 copies so far, the superior winner on the Year-End Chart 2015!

Was WWWY ever released in the US?

It was never serviced to US radio or have a standalone iTunes release. The source we use for radio is Italian and the ones for digital sales aren't from the US either. Since she didn't even perform it at the Grammys, nor did it receive a music video, it would seem that it was never promoted as a single (at least in the US). I think that should be mentioned, no?--MaranoFan (talk) 10:52, 2 March 2016 (UTC)

In Adele's Album 25, her second single "When we Were Young" is said to have peaked at 22 on the Billboard Hot 100. In fact, after her GRAMMY performance, she received a sales bump, which drove her up to 14 on the charts. Jschuler1010 (talk) 04:23, 29 March 2016 (UTC)

Studio album chronology – necessary or not?

Is Adele studio album chronology ”completely unnecessary”, as user IndianBio describes? He reverted my edit. Check for example Lemonade (Beyoncé album). --Cary (talk) 11:40, 8 August 2016 (UTC)

Unnecessary, we maintain a general singular chronology for all the artists. And frankly adding a studio album chronology for Lemonade is same. The template at the bottom of the album pages all have the studio labums listed, so no need of adding a separate chronology and elongating the infobox. —IB [ Poke ] 13:28, 8 August 2016 (UTC)
I see. Thank you for clarifying. --Cary (talk) 15:21, 8 August 2016 (UTC)
