Producers
[edit]@Ab207, Cyphoidbomb, and PK743: I firmly believe that Ram Charan is not actually a producer of this film but merely just a presenter. In the poster itself I do not see his name present but instead I see his production house as a presenter of the film at the top of it. SP013 (talk) 17:05, 22 August 2020 (UTC)
- SP013, We may need additional sources to confirm it either way. Charan's name was displayed in shooting begins poster but was removed in the recent one. This might be because of the development that Charan is starring himself in the film. Ab207 (talk) 19:11, 22 August 2020 (UTC)

Requested move 3 January 2022
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: both moved as proposed; base titles redirected to disambiguation page. (closed by non-admin page mover) Extraordinary Writ (talk) 22:35, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
– Both Acharya and Aacharya are alternate spellings of the same word which are used interchangeably, and are not unique enough to be identified with the respective films. Hence, they should be disambiguated by years per WP:MFILM while both the ambiguous titles may be redirected to Acharya (disambiguation). -- Ab207 (talk) 12:57, 3 January 2022 (UTC) — Relisting. -- Aervanath (talk) 15:57, 12 January 2022 (UTC)
- Support Yeah both titles do seem to be alternate spellings of the same word and to reduce confusion I agree that a page move is required. SP013 (talk) 18:13, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
- Support (speculating that the film will be released in 2022 without delays) Readers (including me) might not be aware that there's an additional a in the 2006 film — DaxServer (talk) 19:34, 4 January 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose The different spellings already disambiguate the films. Just leave a WP:HATNOTE behind. Jerm (talk) 15:25, 10 January 2022 (UTC)
- The spellings are not unique to either of the films for disambiguation. Both the non-English titles share the same root word Acharya (meaning an expert teacher or scholar). -- Ab207 (talk) 15:44, 10 January 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose per WP:SMALLDIFFERENCES, unless we have proof that they use each other's spelling.--Ortizesp (talk) 14:50, 12 January 2022 (UTC)
- Nominator's comment: The following are some of the instances where "Aacharya" is used by reliable sources to refer to the 2022 film.
- -He had undergone the test as part of a routine procedure before the shooting of his latest film "Aacharya" – The New Indian Express, November 2020
- -Chiranjeevi starrer 'Aacharya' and SS Rajamouli's 'RRR' are among the movies whose production has been suspended – The News Minute, April 2020
- -The actor is currently busy with his upcoming film 'Aacharya' under the direction of Koratala Siva. – The Hans India, April 2021
- -Production of this movie will start after the shooting of Ramcharan's movie Aacharya – Sakshi Post, February 2021
- -Chiranjeevi currently has a series of upcoming films, including Aacharya – News18, November 2020
- Unfortunately, there aren't that many English-language sources available for the 2006 film but here are few instances where "Acharya" is used to refer it.
- -His journey as a director started with Acharya, which starred Vignesh. IB Times, December 2021
- -ventured to filmmaking with Acharya. News360, December 2021
- -Will Bala’s assistant prove himself in Acharya? Behindwoods, June 2006
- There's no definite English spelling for either of the films because these are non-English titles, though there's a preferred spelling. The native titles of both the films have the same IPA pronuciation—ஆச்சார்யா (aːcaːɾyaː) (2006 film) and ఆచార్యా (aːcaːɾyaː) (2022 film)—and have the same meaning. The extra "a" in the front does not clear this ambiguity, hence WP:SMALLDETAILS does not apply. -- Ab207 (talk) 18:03, 12 January 2022 (UTC)
- Support: As someone with a good deal of knowledge about Indic languages and their romanised forms, I'd support this move proposal for better disambiguation. Also, Ab207 provides quite a few reliable references above, which do show that Acharya and Aacharya can infact be used to refer to the same movie. ---CX Zoom(he/him) (let's talk|contribs) 20:22, 12 January 2022 (UTC)
- Comment Instead of 2022 it should be moved to an upcoming film as the film was just postponed. SP013 (talk) 16:03, 15 January 2022 (UTC)
- Support per nom. And perhaps "upcoming" would be correct, per SP013. — Amakuru (talk) 21:40, 21 January 2022 (UTC)
- Comment It has a confirmed release date now, can be moved to 2022 film per WP:NCF. -- Ab207 (talk) 07:59, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
Kajal Aggarwal
[edit]@SP013: Is Kajal Aggarwal chopped off from the film? Several sources speculate this but none of them say conclusively [1], [2]. The official teaser description had Aggarwal as star cast but they removed her name in the trailer. Not to mention she does not feature in the trailer at all -- Ab207 (talk) 06:59, 21 April 2022 (UTC)
- I can not say for sure she is chopped off from the film I mean she is present throughout the entire Laahe Laahe song which is confirmed to be in this film. [3]. I just assume that her role has been reduced from a leading role to just a supporting role. I guess we just have to wait till the film releases the same way we waited for the confirmation in Maahan. SP013 (talk) 22:17, 21 April 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for your input. Removed Aggarwal as star following the studio's list. Tagged for update in cast section -- Ab207 (talk) 18:39, 22 April 2022 (UTC)
- @Ab207 Just got an update in this interview. [4] Kajal did shoot for some portions in this film but then was cut from the film due to Koratala not having enough satisfaction with the role given. Will update it to to match how it was in Maahan. SP013 (talk) 22:23, 24 April 2022 (UTC)
- @SP013: Thanks for the update, however, I have restored the content on her pregnancy. It's the elephant in the room and should not go without mentioning. We will never know what the exact reason was, and perhaps Koratala was doing some damage control. So mention both per WP:NPOV, and let the readers to make what they want out of it. -- Ab207 (talk) 05:47, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
- @Ab207: Satya appeared in the song "Laahe Laahe", but not sure if his part is cut or not. DareshMohan (talk) 23:36, 25 April 2022 (UTC)
- @Ab207 and DareshMohan: I do not know how true this is but when Koratala was asked about her presence in "Laahe Laahe" he said it was going to be a "surprise" for the audience so there are possibilities that Kajal is still present in the film but just as a special appearance. Coming to Satya he can still be present throughout the rest of this film same goes for Getup Srinu since it seems that their roles are not limited to the song only. SP013 (talk) 03:53, 26 April 2022 (UTC)
- Since we don't have any sources which confirm their presence, they can't be included per WP:CRYSTAL. Can be updated once the film releases -- Ab207 (talk) 05:46, 26 April 2022 (UTC)
