- Comment - I just wanted to note that if approved, I'd like this to run on March 3, 2023 if possible since that'll be the 8th anniversary of her death. I'm unfamiliar with special occasion holding, though, so I understand if that's not possible. ThadeusOfNazereth(he/they)Talk to Me! 04:04, 10 October 2022 (UTC)
- Unfortunately the special occasion request cannot be accepted because, unless consensus at WT:DYK dictates otherwise, a special occasion hook cannot run more than six weeks from the date of the nomination. Also, while I understand that the subject is deceased so the article is not a BLP, but I think ALT0 is a very bad idea considering it would be a clear BLP violation had she still been alive. - Narutolovehinata5, can you take a look at the new ALT? She freely admitted it and it's discussed in her biography, both in the narrative section and the oral history section, and in several of her obituaries. I think it's a really interesting insight into how dedicated to her craft she was so I'd prefer to work to rephrase it rather than disregard it. - @ThadeusOfNazereth: I really think we need to drop the "lying" angle because without context it makes her look bad. As for ALT2, it's okay but I actually think ALT1 is the more eye-catching option here. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 15:08, 12 October 2022 (UTC)
- @Narutolovehinata5: I struck ALT0, and I agree re:ALT1 - It's more info-packed, at least! ThadeusOfNazereth(he/they)Talk to Me! 15:13, 12 October 2022 (UTC)

- The article meets DYK requirements and a QPQ has been provided. As mentioned earlier, ALT1 is the best option here and the only one for consideration: I have verified it in the source given in the footnote. I also didn't detect any close paraphrasing. As the special occasion request is way beyond six weeks of the nomination, the hook will have to run as a regular hook. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 08:33, 15 October 2022 (UTC)
- @ThadeusOfNazereth: I'm really sorry about this, but I only now just realized that ALT1 is 196 characters long. Technically it's below the 200 character limit, but it's close enough that I wonder if the hook could be made somewhat more concise. I really like ALT1's hook fact but the hook as currently written might be too long. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 02:04, 18 October 2022 (UTC)
- @Narutolovehinata5: That's alright! How do ALTS3/4 look? They're 163 and 174 characters respectively. They catch the general idea but miss that she was the one being discriminated against - I tried a few different variations but think I need the extra characters to get that detail. - Slight preference for ALT4 since it mentions she's a journalist. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 09:34, 19 October 2022 (UTC)
- Okay, making my approval of ALT4 official now. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 10:57, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
