Irish Independent article
[edit]In that article that is given as the source does it actually say that they were associates of O'Snodaigh? Exiledone (talk) 15:16, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
- No, they don't, but this one does say they were associated with Sinn Fein in O Snodaigh's constituency. I'll update the article. Snappy (talk) 15:33, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
- Someone deleted the following section - In October 2002, five men associated with Sinn Féin in Snodaigh's constituency[3] were arrested after discovery of a van in County Wicklow containing a sledgehammer, a black balaclava, a pickaxe handle, two-way radios, and a fluorescent jacket with the word "Garda" on it, along with election posters reading 'Sinn Féin No 1 Aengus Ó Snodaigh'. In a nearby Nissan Almera (with false numberplates) they found a blue flashing beacon, a stun gun, a canister of CS gas and a roll of masking tape.[4][5]
I've restored it. Might be worth watching this article coming up to the election date. Féasógach (talk) 19:43, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
- The section appears to be present more for the suggestion that Aengus Ó Snodaigh is linked than anything else. I also notice every source for it is from indepedent.ie, is there any particular reason for that? IRWolfie- (talk) 00:21, 17 February 2011 (UTC)
- I've added another source, this one from RTÉ. Snappy (talk) 19:25, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
- This source further shows a lack of evidence of involvement. Wikipedia isn't a rumour mill. (Anyone can carry a poster) IRWolfie- (talk) 10:52, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
- Have to agree with Wolfie here. If a person is arrested for drink driving and happens to have a Fianna Fáil sticker on their car should it go in their WIki article? Methinks not. There's no proof evidence knew these individuals and the section should be removed. --CommieMark (talk) 17:28, 11 May 2012 (UTC)

Bad photo
[edit]This photo seems to be pretty bad, are there no others available? IRWolfie- (talk) 00:12, 17 February 2011 (UTC)

Material relating to third parties removed from this biography of a living person
[edit]Following the discussion at Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons/Noticeboard/Archive308#Aengus Ó Snodaigh which although brief was advertised here, I have removed information following the reply of "controversial material about non-notable third parties shouldn't be on a BLP at all, no". FDW777 (talk) 20:45, 22 June 2020 (UTC)
- Not much of a discussion at all. I agree that material about his wife, sister/sister-in-law, children should be removed but not the Leinster House spy ring. These people were employees in Ó Snodaigh office. Ó Snodaigh later publicly defended these people. It would be a pretty shabby article if it didn't mention this incident. See Michael Healy-Rae's article for info that appears about incidents in a TD's office. Spleodrach (talk) 13:06, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
- There was a discussion, properly advertised. If people ignore it, that's their concern. I've included the spy ring details in the existing sentence about election workers, seems the most reasonable place since Ó Snodaigh has not been accused or convicted of wrongdoing. FDW777 (talk) 14:03, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
- There wasn't a discussion is any sense of the word, and it wasn't properly advertised. It should have been mentioned here or at WT:IE, as not everyone watches BLP noticeboard. Spleodrach (talk) 10:53, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
