[edit]

If Diego Salcedo died in 1511, as per his entry, how did Agueybana rise into revolt and get shot in 1510 already? Did Agueybana revolt a year before Salcedo's death?

He died about 1509 or early 1510, alot of poeple confuse him the "Bishop" of the same name. Here's a reference by historian Ricardo Alegria as to what happeded: "The Drowning of Diego Salcedo". Tony the Marine 06:11, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Arrival of the conquistadors error

[edit]

In the Arrival of the conquistadors section, it says that guaitiao means friends, and that Juan Ponce de León and Agüeybaná's wives exchanged names. Guaitiao is actually a Taíno ritual in which Juan Ponce de León and Agüeybaná exchanged their names, not their wives'. I will be correcting the error as soon as possible.Boricuaeddie 03:01, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Split article

[edit]

Each of these two caciques had their own separate share of stories and, finally, their own legacy. I think the article should be split into two articles, one per individual. My name is Mercy11 (talk) 13:58, 8 July 2012 (UTC), and I approve this message.[reply]
