Yes, the light blue one which was provisionally introduced at the Olympics. The flag was officially accepted by law in 2001 (there is a bit more info on Bosnian Wikipedia page). Was the light blue used before 2001?--MirkoS18 (talk) 11:57, 14 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@MirkoS18: if this light-blue variant really was constitutionally recognized, it should be added to {{Country data Bosnia and Herzegovina}} for the parameter you added to work. Open an edit request on the template's talk page with evidence and the 1998 entry should be added. (edited this message after looking more closely) –Vipz (talk) 15:05, 14 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Well, it honestly seems a bit surprising to me since I would assume that the current version was used all along (But why would then this unusual occasional mistake in shade ever happen? This may in fact explain it). Refering to your comment and changes my understanding is that it was indeed never formally introduced before 2001 but it was used provisionally/de facto between 1998 and 2001 (or which one should be used for that period?). Now, there is another option that the shade of the flag was changed before 2001, at some point between 1998 and 2001. Maybe even already in 1998, so it would be great if we keep it in mind in case there is some source to clarify it. I don't know if there is a need to do any changes before we figure out what is going on here.--MirkoS18 (talk) 16:38, 14 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
So if they got it all right in THIS ARTICLE the change was made right away. So I looked a bit further and it seems the change was made righ away since at THIS VIDEO from the Olympics the current flag is used (see 41:00...).--MirkoS18 (talk) 17:05, 14 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Well, that kind of solves it for us; dark blue was there all along, so there is no point in using the light blue variant whether or not it was officially recognized. Good job on research! I imagine it took a while to locate Bosnia and Herzegovina in a two-hour video. –Vipz (talk) 18:35, 14 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. It was not too bad actually with this video since there is a very similar pattern in all Olympics ceremonies. I just jumped to the part with flags parade and there I oriented my self alphabetically rather easily.--MirkoS18 (talk) 08:11, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
