AiounEl Aioun. The name of all articles is not "Aioun" but "El Aioun'. Note that not every link Special:WhatLinksHere/El_Aioun is referred to Laayoune. No entering links for Special:WhatLinksHere/El-Aioun MrKeefeJohn (talk) 13:32, 21 March 2022 (UTC) — Relisting. 🐶 EpicPupper (he/him | talk) 06:56, 9 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • I don't see a primary topic here: Laayoune is certainly a popular article, but the city doesn't seem to be primary known as "Al Aioun": that particular variant isn't even listed in the lede. As for the exact title of the dab page, I believe the preference usually is for the simplest possible form: Aioun, which will also make more natural the inclusion (at least in the "see also") of entries for Aioun el Atrouss or similar places. Unless "Aioun" is not a synonym and its use for "El Aioun" is incorrect? In that case, moving as proposed is definitely better. The related dabs of El Ayoun and Ayun will also need to be considered, with the option of a marge apparently viable. But this will require input from editors with better awareness of the subject area than I have. – Uanfala (talk) 15:21, 9 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
