Copyright Violation?
[edit]This article is nearly a word-for-word copy of the official band website http://www.albannachmusic.com/about.htm
Is this a copyright violation? 98.16.32.152 (talk) 01:04, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, it has been a year (the above IP comment was me). I've tried to clean it up but we could use more citations/sources and a History -or- Background section. All of the articles for the albums and the Video are now created but need images & expansion (please feel free to contribute!). Time to sign off for the evening - Nunc est bibendum!

Multiple issues
[edit]I am bemused at the removal of the tags I placed earlier on this article, described as "backdated". The edits I had made beforehand addressed some of the worst aspects of over-elaborated and off-topic non-pertinent minutiae, promotional and non-encyclopedic tone etc. but they hardly resolved the multiple issues which affect it, for which I tagged the article and which are still highly pertinent.
The article has but two references. One is used purely to support a quote from a band member, so without any supporting material from that source (and the link unfortunately is dead) it is thus stretching it to class a quote from the subject of the article as a secondary source. The other ref simply mentions them playing a gig abroad, which at best only weakly supports the text regarding frequent performances. Neither ref comes close to establishing notability. That's it for refs. How on earth are "refimprove" and "notability" tags not highly pertinent to this article? There is very much insufficient indication that they have received significant coverage in reliable sources.
Having whittled out the most irrelevant of the material, the section on indidvidual members particularly could still do with some work to cut it back. This section still forms the bulk of the article, does nothing to establish notability and this level of elaboration on individual members who are not notable in their own right, in a band whose notability has not been adequately established, seems excessive, particularly in relation to the dearth of other material in the article.
There's so little to go on here I'm pondering nominating for deletion. Mutt Lunker (talk) 12:20, 11 November 2012 (UTC)
