[edit]Is it really correct to say that Small "established" the American Journal of Sociology? Clearly he was its guiding light, editor, major promoter, and in the beginning frequent contributor, BUT President Harper was also important in funding its cost and giving the Unversity's time and some focus to the "establishment" of the Journal.
Also, shouldn't something be said about Small's attachment to German sociology and how he attempted to keep alive the collaboration and co-operation between German and American social scientists even during WW I?
