[edit]I have completely rewritten this page (and that version has in turn been heavily edited by others). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bigjimedge (talk • contribs) 13:28, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, but cutting and pasting, moving about, and rewording the information that was given doesn't, to my mind, clear it of being an autobiography. You simply used the information Fiske provided and moved it around a bit. Even with the culling of the promotional material the source of all of this is the topic himself which makes a lot of it quite suspect. --Blowdart | talk 13:38, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
- No, the source of all of this is the references. Or perhaps you think the newspaper websites are lying.--Bigjimedge (talk) 13:51, 19 January 2009 (UTC)
Tatler cite
[edit]The one thing keeping me from renominating this article for AFD (where I'd still might !vote weak delete), is the ostensible profile in the Tatler: Compston, Harriet. "Hottie Ahoy!", Tatler. July 2008. This isn't on-line; can someone across the pond verify that it's significant independent coverage? THF (talk) 18:00, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
Prod added
[edit]I have added a prod for the concerns raised. the article is self published. I also reviewed references 1 to 10 and were found to be either a blog comment (2, 3, 4, 6) no url (5), or requires superscription to view (7, 8, 9 and 10). In my opinion, not only does this article is self published, but also does not meet notability requirement. I rest the case for now. Description of AFH as a philosopher
[edit]I removed this reference since I can find no evidence that AFH has worked as philosopher, though he seems to be an Oxford graduate in philosophy. Revert 372258477 by 93.97.52.15 attributes the label "philosopher" to sources in the BBC and The Times. On reviewing the sources listed in the article, I can find no support for this. Is there any other source? The article by John-Paul Flintoff in The Times states "One of my friends is the bullfighter-philosopher Alexander Fiske-Harrison," but this sounds like an impressionistic characterization rather than a professional label. Furthermore, I can find no works by AFH in standard academic indices, which would otherwise have been a source for a citation to support this professional label. Why is the title of this article in italics?
[edit]It should be titled 'Alexander Fiske-Harrison', but for some reason it appears as Alexander Fiske-Harrison. Can anyone figure out why? It seems {{Italic title}} is being used somewhere on the page, but I can't seem to work out where. Robofish (talk) 13:11, 14 April 2012 (UTC)
- {{infobox play}} was the culprit. I've fixed it now. --ThaddeusB (talk) 20:15, 16 April 2012 (UTC)
