[edit]

Different spellings for "Александры Герасимени" include:

  • Aliaksandre Herasimenia (2003 World Cup meet in Berlin)
  • Aliaksandra Herasimenia (2012 Olympics, 2011 Worlds, 2010 Europeans)
  • Aleksandra Gerasimenya (2010 SC Worlds)

Which is most common (and are there others)? (Note: source of the Cyrillic name is the Belarus federation website (www.belarusaquatics.com) -- Hooperswim (talk) 16:59, 30 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

During the 2000s and 2010s, Belarusians have generally used the Russian language a lot more than they use Belarusian, though this might evolve somewhat with the post-Lukashenko transition. Latin transcriptions may vary depending on whether someone considers the ru or the be version to be the "original":
ru - Александра Викторовна Герасименя
be - Аляксандра Віктараўна Герасіменя

Not Lithuania

[edit]

According to [1], she was in Ukraine, not Lithuania, and has now evacuated to Poland. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 15:01, 17 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
