Honours for 2015
[edit]Should Andreas Vaikla receive honours for Allsvenskan and Supercupen from 2015, even though he only appeared on the bench for both competetions? @Qed237: @Mattias321: // Psemmler (talk) 15:01, 18 March 2016 (UTC)
- That is a tough one. I would like to say yes, but I know that in many leagues you have had to play a certain amount of matches to recieve a medal. This has led to honours being removed from other footballers. Qed237 (talk) 15:23, 18 March 2016 (UTC)
- So does it depends on if he were given a medal or not @Qed237:? I'm pretty sure he received one for Supercupen, since he was a sub, but I'm not sure of Allsvenskan. // Psemmler (talk) 16:25, 18 March 2016 (UTC)
- @Psemmler: That is my experience. If we have a source saying that he recieved a medal, we can add it as an honour. Qed237 (talk) 16:28, 18 March 2016 (UTC)
- In my opinion, the medal rule is a bit messy since it's different requirements depending on competetion and country, as far as I'm aware of. I think that if a player have represented the team at any game for the competetion, it should be recieved as an honour. By this, it doesn't include Vaikla, however I know there's a lot of second goalkeepers not having played any games but still mentioned as part of the team. Maybe this is a subject for WP:Football @Qed237:? // Psemmler (talk) 16:32, 18 March 2016 (UTC)
- It has been discussed, but feel free to open a new discussion. In my mind he has been a part of the squad and even if he had not played any matches he has been a part of the team, pushed them in practise and so on. You can read one of the discussions I have been involved in at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football/Archive 95#Honours for those not involved in finals. In that discussions people thought Danny Welbeck should not get FA Cup as honour because he did not play in the final (he played earlier in tournament). Qed237 (talk) 16:50, 18 March 2016 (UTC)
- Also please see this where a hidden note even had been added, whcih was a big discussion. I wanted it added but consensus was no. Qed237 (talk) 16:55, 18 March 2016 (UTC)
