Assesment

[edit]

I assessed this article as class B for the WikiProject Food and drink with a low importance. Good citations and overview of the company.

NPOV

[edit]

This page seems to have a bit of a bias - it seems like it's advertising and pushing for Argo Teas. I edited a few small things to make it seem less like that, because the article itself is great, but I'd like other people to take a look and chime in. Thanks! Verloren Hoop 20:50, 1 June 2006 (UTC

TTT Response

[edit]

Aside from the prospect of going public everything else is just passing along factual information gleaned in a discussion with workers (including management) at the store.

Questioning objectivity

[edit]

Any article on a corporate entity is going to be a little bit of a sales pitch. Selling tea is what they do. I don't see an issue with it so long as they're not saying their better than anyone in particular or making specific offers or claims in the article.

removing objection

[edit]

Given the last change removing the prospect of going public, I think I can remove the question of objectivity.

Argo Tea went out of business

[edit]

Hi, I was interested in purchasing Argo Tea on 7-22-2021 and I couldn't find any place that had it in Minneapolis-St.Paul. CVS used to carry it. Fresh Thyme as well. Nothing!

I googled and one article told of one of the partners moving out of their building in Chicago. He said it was unfortunate, or something. No other comment.

I don't know how to work Wikipedia; asking anyone reading this with that skillset to update the article. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kornshell (talkcontribs) 08:53, July 23, 2021 (UTC)

Argo Tea shifted from cafés to selling bottled tea drinks in 2020. Golden Fleece Beverages bought it, but it still uses the Argo Tea name. One of the founders is listed as the executive, per a source I used in the article. I added this to History section and to the lead. You can buy leaf teas online at the Argo Tea website. I think all cafés are gone, perhaps a pandemic decision. - - Prairieplant (talk) 06:21, 17 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Argo Tea vacated the headquarters at 16 West Randolph St. in Chicago several years ago. Now there's a Blick Art store there. http://www.argotea.com/, a shopify site, is showing "Sorry, this store is currently unavailable." Sounds like it may be gone. Slywy (talk) 00:21, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
