National Urban League Photography Award

[edit]

There's something odd about this "National Urban League Photography Award". When I google for it, the only hits I get are for Leipzig, and none of these specifies the year. Did such people as DeCarava never win it?

I guess that the name might have got garbled (from "NUL Photographic Prize" or whatever) and therefore google for the combination of "decarava" and "national urban league". Nothing obvious, but I do learn that the NUL has a "Gallery 62".

The article tells us that the award was given in 1962. A coincidence, or could an exhibition in "62" by Leipzig have gradually been transmuted into a 1962 award? -- Hoary (talk) 04:01, 7 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
