On notability

[edit]

Doens't just being a worldwide company that employs thousands give it some notability Daniel Christensen (talk) 18:14, 25 August 2009 (UTC) Does Asplundh use E-Verify to assure that it isn't hiring illegal immigrants?[reply]

No; read WP:ORG. Ironholds (talk) 18:16, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Danny, if some wiki person has it in for Asplundh they can get the entry removed. It is basically a game of attrition. There is no rhyme or reason to it. If someone hastes the article and has the time to delete all edits, etc....the entry will die. If, on the other hand, you are into the entry you just have to keep on editing until the other dude becomes sick of it. It is totally a war of attrition. Issues of actual notability matter little. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.206.143.173 (talk) 13:53, 18 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Additional sources and request for encyclopedic tone

[edit]

Apparently most of the facts about this company and its history are lifted from its own website, rather than from objective additional sources. I encourage others to add new third-party sources and to also consider the use of encyclopedic tone, omitting marketing language and peacock terms. Avoid adding opinion; state facts. Avoid ambiguity; quote sources. See Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Words to watch. --SidP (talk) 19:35, 3 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
