Associação Atlética Portuguesa (Santos)Associação Atlética Portuguesa (SP) — Consistency in naming Brazilian clubs. Relisted. BDD (talk) 00:10, 29 December 2013 (UTC) 12:53, 13 December 2013 (UTC). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.121.43.60‎ (talkcontribs) User:109.121.43.60 12:53, 13 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Neutral - yes, it would be good to make this consistent, but I can't get excited about the naming convention that seems to be in use. Abbreviations like "SP" and "GO" are quite meaningless to most people outside Brazil, so I would prefer it if the whole set were renamed to somehting more obvious, for example "Associação Atlética Portuguesa (São Paulo)". Town names such as Santos would also not be an unreasonable disambiguator for the whole set.  — Amakuru (talk) 22:45, 21 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Probably "Associação Atlética Portuguesa (São Paulo state)" is a better name, as São Paulo is the name of both a city and a state. Anyway, the name may still cause confusion, as there is already a club from São Paulo city (and thus São Paulo state) named Portuguesa. That is the reason why the page is named Associação Atlética Portuguesa (Santos) instead of Associação Atlética Portuguesa (SP) or Associação Atlética Portuguesa (São Paulo). --Carioca (talk) 20:43, 29 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
