Hong Kong Open

[edit]

I've moved the article to "Australian Open" since the article was insubstantial, and I felt that the Hong Kong Open would be better covered within the context of the history of the Australian Open. Ideally as the article develops we'll have a section on the history of the Australian Open and a history of snooker in Australia in general wihihc will address the circumstances of the 1989 event.

The Hong Kong Open only ran for one season so there isn't any scope for developing a Hong Kong Open article unless snooker returns to Hong Kong. For that reason we may as well include the result here, but it might be better to split the table so that the Hong Kong result is separate from the Australian Open results, since they aren't really the same tournament, they are tournaments that share a common history. If snooker ever returns to HK we can always start a fresh article at a later point and move the result to it. Betty Logan (talk) 22:49, 14 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Moved the article to "Australian Goldfields Open", because it's the correct name. I think the table is good at it is, as the Hong Kong Open was originally scheduled to be held in Australia and the table contains the names. Armbrust Talk to me Contribs 07:15, 15 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
