Sigismund Bathory alos used the style Prince of Wallachia and Moldavia and had the armories of the two countries on his personal coat of arms. It should be noted that after the extremely binding treaties signed by Stefan Razvan (described by some contemporary sources as "governor" of Moldavia) and by Michael the Brave in 1595 he was the de facto Prince of all the three countries.

Gabriel Bathory also used the Style Prince of Transalpine Vlachia after he ocupied Wallachia in 1610-1611...all this is important info. Plinul cel tanar 15:48, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have more info on this, which is sourced? I don't know a lot about this, unfortunatelly... --Thus Spake Anittas 19:19, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Constantin Rezachevici, a reputed Romanan mediavalist clearly expresse it in this article: http://www.itcnet.ro/history/archive/mi2000/current10/mi8.htm, Neagu Djuvara explicitely states it as well in a well known general-public history book (A history of the Romanians dedicated to the young). I'm sorry, it's in Romanian, but I have integrated part of the info in the Michael the Brave article. I don't have much time now and I still have A LOT of work on the Michael article but I intend to contribute on the Bathory articles in the future. Here is a usefull site, see Sigismund's personal coat of arms featuring the armories of Wallachia and Moldavia. http://www.heraldique-europeenne.org/Regions/Europe_Orientale/Transylvanie.htm Plinul cel tanar 09:31, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ugrian???

[edit]

Who changed the Hungarian identity of the Báthory family to Ugrian? He or she argues "that was no Hungary in this time." Really? There was no Hungary during the reign of King Peter Orseolo in 1038-1046? Nor was there a Hungary in the 13th century?

This is what I hate and despise about Wikipedia. It's the perfect place for the dissemination of misinformation. I've had it with Wikistupidia! Read an encyclopedia instead!!
