Istanbul
[edit]Here is a picture from the Istanbul Archaeology Museums. Surely these are from the same Balawat Gates? User:Jononmac46 and User:Victuallers, have you seen anything on this? It is not mentioned in this article, which only refers to London and Mosul.
Eckhard Unger was the curator of the Istanbul museum and wrote this: Zum Bronzetor von Balawat, Beiträge zur Erklärung und Deutung der assyrischen Inschriften und Reliefs Salmanassars III, which refers to and shows photos of parts of the Gates in "Konstantinopel". I can't find anything more modern though.

- I'm not sure, but I agree that they are visually very similar. I'm not an expert I have just recreated my understanding of what I read. I think? I remember seeing diagrams that showed that Balawat had quite a few gates. Not only that .... the wood had rotted. Only the metal was left so its conjecture as to how they were arranged. I think we ought to mention these. Do you understand the text? If so then add it. Thanks for bringing this up. Victuallers (talk) 21:48, 4 August 2014 (UTC)
