Fair use rationale for Image:BAYFM993LOGO.jpg

[edit]

Image:BAYFM993LOGO.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 01:02, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

According to our solitors, under International copyright agreements, Fair Use does not apply. we will continue in our efforts to have this illegal use of material stopped.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.45.50.147 (talk) 04:13, 29 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
IP editor, please see the information here regarding communicating with Wikimedia about the issue(s) you are raising. Yngvadottir (talk) 05:18, 29 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
We have contacted them they are SLOW SLOW SLOW to respond. Quote from just below : Content that violates any copyrights will be deleted.
WE WILL NOT GIVE UP ON THIS!!
Additionally the header already says:
"This article has multiple issues. Please help improve it or discuss these issues on the talk page.
It needs additional citations for verification. Tagged since June 2008.
It relies on references to primary sources or sources affiliated with the subject, rather than references from independent authors and third-party publications. Tagged since July 2010.
It may have been edited by a contributor who has a close connection with its subject. Tagged since July 2010."
I note that you have been after additioanl "citations" since 2008. They don't exist ... so do what your rukles say: DELETE>
I note it relies on primary sources. tagged since 2010. Not fixed. Follow your own rules and DELETE!— Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.45.50.147 (talkcontribs) 06:00, 29 November 2011‎ (UTC)[reply]
With respect, you are confusing two different things. To violate copyright, the text would have to copy the wording of the sources - it doesn't, I checked. You also state in edit summaries that the text is inaccurate; how can this be so if it accurately restates what is said in the sources, and how can you then also say it should be deleted for over-reliance on primary sources, i.e., the station's own website? These things contradict each other. As to the logo, I have no expertise whatsoever in the area of image copyright and fair use. I'm sorry, you will have to talk to the legal folks as you say you have done. But please don't just blank the article. If you have other sources on the radio station, please by all means add them to improve it. That's what the template at the top means: it's an invitation to improve the article. Yngvadottir (talk) 06:42, 29 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
For the record, I've been through the article with a fine tooth comb, have re-verified all of the content and cleaned up the infobox.[1] I've since made one change to a citation.[2] and the article is now semi-protected. One IP has been blocked for 6 months for making legal threats, while the other has been blocked for 24 hours for disruptive editing as a result of the ANI discussion that I started. --AussieLegend (talk) 11:07, 29 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

We have no knowledge of any of this. We were alerted of the vandalisim to the Bay FM 99.3 Wikipedia entry by "Nate @mrschimpf Sheboygan, WI" on Twitter, who told us to advise you on this page that we are now "back in control" . We recently experienced an intrusion through a vulnerability in our remote access software which compromised our network and webserver allowing access to our computers. We understand that emails and other material bearing two of our IP addresses were distributed. We have now corrected this intrusion. We note that the page layout is different to what we remember from the last time we had cause to view it. Is this how it is now to remain? Addtionally, we note a link to an inactive stream link. This stream is inactive at our request, as our agreement with our stream provider (through NCH) prevents re-transmission.
