Tourism[edit]

This entire section reads like it was written by the Blue Ridge Chamber of Commerce -- or at least cribbed wholesale from a brochure. I'm no expert at Wikipedia, but I'm pretty sure that's a conflict of interest -- especially considering the advertising for the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway's website and phone number I just removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.137.20.134 (talk) 15:40, 11 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. When you see something promotional, WP:BEBOLD and remove it.– Gilliam (talk) 18:34, 11 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Notable people born or raised in Blue Ridge![edit]

How about adding Cohutta Lee Grindstaff to the page as one of the notable people from the Ridge? He's on the current season of the Real World:Sydney! He is super hot! :D Cncsweetiegal (talk) 18:32, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

economic base[edit]

It would be even more interesting if there were mention of the major employers, recent and planned economic development, and the current and recent unemployment rate. 75.131.29.13 (talk) 15:58, 3 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Move the LGBT section of this article to a more relevant entry[edit]

The aforementioned section appears to be a debate between two separate editors. This article is about the city of Blue Ridge proper: its history, geography, relevant statistics like population size, notable people, etc. The LGBT section of this article would be better suited as subentries within an entry devoted to LGBT rights/issues in Georgia. The information put in this article related to the Fannin County school system: that county has a population of over 25,000. Blue Ridge has a population below 2,000. Things pertaining to Fannin County schools don't belong in an article specifically about one town in that county. Most of the students in that system don't live in Blue Ridge and the behavior of parents or children in that school system is not a reflection of the population of the town. 2600:1004:B157:926:F102:54DB:A279:83F9 (talk) 17:07, 5 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
