Birthplace[edit]

Just got changed to Brighton by someone - articles I see show him as moving there when 18, not being born there, though I can't find any definitive sources on this...

Releases[edit]

I noticed that an EP was missing ("The Shark EP"), only one single was included ("Nightlite") and one that was possibly misspelled ("Nightlife EP"). For the moment I've added The Shark EP and deleted the single and the possibly incorrect so-called EP. I think this latter is actually the 12" release of "Nightlite" which contained remixes.

Also not sure if the bootleg should be included. If we are to include the Nightlite 12", we should include all singles, namely:

  • Silver - 7" single (Tru Thoughts, 2000)
  • Terrapin - 12" single (Tru Thoughts, 2000)
  • Kota - 7" single, USA (Tru Thoughts, 2001)
  • Turtle - 12" single (Tru Thoughts, 2001)
  • Flutter - 12" and CD singles (Ninja Tune, 2003)
  • Pick Up - 10" and CD singles (Ninja Tune, 2003)
  • Nightlite - 7", 12" and CD singles (Ninja Tune, 2006)

Added a citation and link to the Ninja Tune statement on the early release. Also edited the The North Borders page. Rileyedwards 7:40, 23 March 2013 (UTC)

Article move?[edit]

Should this article be move from Bonobo (music) to Bonobo (musician)? Gram123 11:03, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'd agree with that for sure. --sparkl!sm talk 19:59, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I've gone ahead and done it, and fixed all the links to avoid redirects. Gram123 10:20, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Picture[edit]

I was at the gig in KoKo last week and took a few shots. I've added on of Simon Green. Hope you enjoy :) --213.106.128.127 22:42, 6 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup[edit]

I've done a bit of a tidy up, and added a section about Bonobo Live. --Hobmcd 09:04, 15 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

History Intro[edit]

At 18, he moved to Brighton where he released his debut album Animal Magic on the Tru Thoughts label in 2000.

When I read this it sounds like Bonobo released Animal Magic when he was 18. He did it when he was 24. Shouldn't this be changed so the reader doesn't get confused? Maybe this would work better,

In 1994, he moved to Brighton where he released his debut album Animal Magic on the Tru Thoughts label later in 2000.

Soundtrack appearances[edit]

Just from looking at a few reliable sources, they don't cover anything on Bonobo's songs appearing in commercials or soundtracks. Therefore I'm not sure if having them in the article body is any more significant in par with his overall career. In cases like this, I would rather they be in the article if the songs have gained some sort of notoriety from playing a huge role in say, a movie. (Like Jamiroquai's Canned Heat in Napoleon Dynamite.) I propose that the section should be removed as they could potentially belong more in the album articles that the songs were from.100cellsman (talk) 09:48, 23 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    • Disagree as it is valid content and contributes to the wikipedia notability of a musical artist as shown in WP:NMUSIC, regards Atlantic306 (talk) 21:12, 23 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
      • Understandable, but I myself haven't provided a couple of the claims with the best sources ever. (for example, iMDb, Last.fm) Maybe the lesser quality sourced claims and especially the uncited claims should be deleted and the sections with more acceptable sources could be kept.100cellsman (talk) 01:54, 24 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
