Availability

Seinfeld
[edit]Looking at what articles link to this one, I think adding a mention of the reference to Bosco in Seinfeld might be in order. For non-Americans who have never seen Bosco on store shelves, it is still notable purely because of the Seinfeld reference.--Jeff79 (talk) 11:06, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

Unknown inventor
[edit]Neither of the 2 primary sources, Barth and Sietsma mention "Alfons Noe" as the inventor, although twice this unsubstantiated information was put into this article. Noe hold a patent for enzymatic conversion in the manufacture of certain foodstuffs, but nothing directly to do with Bosco, and he was not the physician who allegedly invented Bosco. The company itself does not know who invented the product, and that an anonymous physician invented it and sold the rights to the coffee company that made Boscul Coffee is all that the company knows. Lastly, Wikipedia CANNOT be used as a source for information as was done in the last edit which I reverted today. Regards. NotaBene 鹰百利 Talk 21:17, 11 April 2016 (UTC)

[edit]- All citations state that the inventor is unknown, however it was my grandfather who invented Bosco. So please explain to me how or why you feel this information should not be included in the information, and why you are the best person to make that determination. Please read Wikipedia guidelines on: No original research, use of verifiable sources, use of reliable sources and not using primary and unpublished sources. Your family lore is not a reliable source for an online encyclopedia. In fact, the lack of verifiable references from secondary sources (i.e., if you go out and publish a book "How My Grandpa Invented Bosco", that is a primary source and needs secondary verification) does indeed, invalidate the edit you made. It is customary to discuss edits that have been removed for lack of proper verification on the Talk page (here) per policy WP:BRD and not continuing to add the controversial and disputed info to the article. You are engaging in an edit war. In addition, you removed a reference which directly refuted the edit you made without providing any source refuting the validity of that reference or providing your own reference, which as stated above, constitutes original research.NotaBene 鹰百利 Talk 23:51, 16 April 2016 (UTC)
Production Process
[edit]Whilst a slice of life --- and I am not suggesting editing ---
Bulk materials are added via automatic measuring devices into stainless steel cooking vats. Minor ingredients and flavorings are blended into the batch separately, through a custom blender device, following product handling and quality assurance codes. While in the vats, Bosco is pasteurized for product uniformity and then cooled for bottling. Computers measure and monitor the product temperatures.
