[edit]

In "It received its name from an old banyan", what is it that received a name: Cl Mark Wood? the portion of the road? the Circular road? Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose Road? the part of the road shown as Baithakkhana? or the archaic spelling of Baithakkhana? It is not clear to me what 'it' refers at the beginning of the sentence. --Forich (talk) 18:23, 15 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You're right that the passage is confusing. I've found the Woods map (although the Upton map seems inaccessible for the moment), and I've found an online version of Cotton's book, from which much of the history seems to have been taken. However, I've not found the passage that will make the above explicable. Yet. Dhtwiki (talk) 11:39, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Links #1, 3, 5 (formatting change) are dead links; #2, 4 (added archive) work. Also, bot has misread an inadvertent line break in a couple of references and converted those references to vertical format! Dhtwiki (talk) 05:51, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
