I removed the "published as" sentences in Keene's list of novels.http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Brian_Keene&diff=285573091&oldid=285572823] It seems excessive, and not very useful. Ikip (talk) 02:22, 23 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Did Not "Inspire pop culture's recent interest in Zombies"

[edit]

Zombies were of interest in Japan in the early 90's, and then it was shipped back to the US with Japanese horror. The best example would be the video game "Resident Evil," which has sold over 11 million copies in North America. It had two sequels, each sold extremely well, with Resident Evil II being the most sold PlayStation game. I'd be surprised if "The Rising," has sold as many units. For contrast, "The Exorcist" has sold 11 million copies to date. Resident Evil was released in 1996, seven years before "The Rising."

To compound that, the Resident Evil movie was released in the fall of 2002, whereas "The Rising" was released in the Spring of 2003. Before that, there was a book series related to the game. Therefore, Resident Evil was across multiple platforms before "The Rising" was even released, let alone the fact that "The Rising" hasn't been made into a movie, or a game, or comic book series, or action figures, etc.

Even the other example of 28 Days Later doesn't work. 28 Days Later is an answer to zombie movies already becoming stale, featuring a realistic cause for zombies, and adding zombies that run. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 170.173.0.16 (talk) 00:53, 24 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
