Untitled[edit]

In my opinion Mr. Schwenker is a relevant person for an encyclopedia because he is the head of the supervisory board of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants, one of the biggest consultancies in the world. {{Klaus Bells}}

Prof. Burkhard Schwenker is Chairman of the Advisory Council of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants as of July 2015. http://www.rolandberger.com/expertise/functional_issues/organization/expert_profile/rbsc-exp-Burkhard_Schwenker.html {{Franziska Poszler}}

Update[edit]

Please accept and edit the following suggestions to keep the entry up-to-date:
-The new firm name is Roland Berger, not Roland Berger Strategy Consultants.
-image description: Burkhard Schwenker is Chairman of the Advisory Board of Roland Berger, not Head of the Supervisory Board.
-Please add to the text: When Charles-Edouard Bouée was appointed CEO in July 2014, Schwenker became head of the supervisory board again and held this position until 2015 when Marcus Berret took over.
-On "His life" section:
-Please add the following to the sentence: "In July 2010 he was appointed Chairman of the Supervisory Board. After his successor, Martin C. Wittig, stepped back for health reasons on 4 May 2013, Schwenker reassumed his responsibilities as CEO, until Charles-Edouard Bouée was appointed CEO by the Partners. Schwenker then returned to his post as head of the supervisory board until 2015."
-Please delete the sentence: "In February 2012, Burkhard Schwenker was appointed Chairman of the newly founded Roland Berger School of Strategy and Economics (RBSE)."
-Please change the last sentence into "He lives in Hamburg".
Thank you very much in advance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Franziska Poszler (talkcontribs) 09:52, 28 September 2015 (UTC) On "Socio-political engagement" section:[reply]
-Please change: "Next to his tasks as Chairman of the Advisory Board of Roland Berger, Burkhard Schwenker is very engaged in various initiatives and organizations."
-Please delete: "At the "enable2start"-award initiated as an award for innovative start-up companies by Financial Times Deutschland, Burkhard Schwenker was a member of the jury."
On "Publications" section:
-Please delete: "Burkhard Schwenker has always been very active as an author and is the publisher of think: act-CONTENT by Roland Berger Strategy Consultants." and add: "Burkhard Schwenker has always been very active as an author." — Preceding unsigned comment added by Franziska Poszler (talkcontribs) 10:19, 30 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Franziska Poszler. I have begun making updates and other revisions to this article. However, it would be greatly appreciated of you could notate which sources support which of the edits you are suggesting, so that I don't have to look through every source for each correction. Doing so is rather tedious and adds significantly to the time required to perform these edits, particularly as I don't understand German and must rely on Google translation for sources in German. Simply giving the numbers for each proposed edit will suffice, since you already numbered the new sources listed above. (Speaking of which, I adjusted the formatting of the list of references, and the list of proposed edits, above so they it no longer appear as single paragraphs.) Also note that I may not be able to make all edits exactly as requested if they are not adequately supported by reliable sources, for example "has always been very active as an author" which is something of an extraordinary claim.
Thanks in advance, GrammarFascist contribstalk 16:04, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Dear GrammarFascist,

Thank you very much for putting this much effort into updating the Wikipedia entries.

The following are the new sources combined with the relevant text passages: -He served as CEO of Roland Berger (then called Roland Berger Strategy Consultants) from 2003 until July 2010, when he was appointed head of the supervisory board of the firm. He served as CEO again from May 2013 to July 2014, (new source: http://www.wiwo.de/unternehmen/dienstleister/roland-berger-fuehrungswechsel-in-schwierigen-zeiten/8168602.html) after his successor/antecessor Martin C. Wittig stepped back due to health reasons (new source: http://www.handelsblatt.com/unternehmen/management/bouee-folgt-auf-schwenker-chefwechsel-bei-roland-berger/10122126.html). "Education and career" section: -After completing his PhD in economics, he became a member of the company then called Roland Berger Strategy Consultants in 1989, and was elected partner in 1992 (new source: http://www.mt.de/lokales/wirtschaft/3596617_Burkhard_Schwenker_soll_neuer_Chef_werden.html) - In 2003, Schwenker was appointed the head of the Executive Committee of Roland Berger, this appointment being renewed for another term by the partners in 2006. (new source: http://www.mt.de/lokales/wirtschaft/3596617_Burkhard_Schwenker_soll_neuer_Chef_werden.html) -In 2008 the Leipzig Graduate School of Management (HHL) awarded him the honorary professorship. (new source: http://www.hhl.de/de/fakultaet/strategisches-management-familienunternehmen/) -Together with Torsten Wulf, Burkhard Schwenker has been the Academic Director of the school’s Center for Scenario Planning. (new source: http://www.cio.de/a/roland-berger-bekommt-neuen-aufsichtsratschef,3100399) "Socio-political engagement": -Next to his tasks as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Roland Berger, Burkhard Schwenker is very engaged in various initiatives and organizations. Since 1 September 2010, Burkhard Schwenker has headed the Roland Berger foundation. (new source: http://www.rolandberger.de/expertise/funktionale_expertise/organisation/expert_profile/rbsc-exp-Burkhard_Schwenker.html) - Additionally, Schwenker supports the "Verband deutscher Unternehmerinnen (VdU)" (German branch of the international FCEM) and its key project focusing on the promotion of a stronger presence of women on supervisory boards (new source: http://www.beruf-und-familie.de/index.php?c=17&cms_det=460&search=schwenker&back=1) -At the "enable2start"-award initiated as an award for innovative start-up companies by Financial Times Deutschland, Burkhard Schwenker was a member of the jury (new source: http://www.manager-magazin.de/unternehmen/artikel/best-of-european-business-a-934294.html) - He is also one of the trustees of berufundfamilie GmbH, an initiative of the non-profit Hertie-foundation, (new source: http://www.presseportal.de/pm/32053/2525186) as well as of Wertekommission e.V.[18] "European engagement" section: - He also writes about and discusses European topics as a guest-author of various Business Magazines. ( new source: http://www.business-wissen.de/buch/europa-fuehrt/)

Here is the source to my additional suggestion: -image description: Burkhard Schwenker is Chairman of the Advisory Board of Roland Berger, not Head of Supervisory Board (source: http://www.rolandberger.de/expertise/funktionale_expertise/organisation/expert_profile/rbsc-exp-Burkhard_Schwenker.html)

I hope this makes implementing the corrections more easy and less time-consuming. Let me know if you have any concerns or questions. Thank you in advance.

Thank you, Franziska Poszler. This additional information will indeed make my "job" much easier. I appreciate your willingness to collaborate in order to improve these articles. —GrammarFascist contribstalk 17:54, 9 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I believe I have made all of the edits you requested, Franziska Poszler, where it was possible for me to do so. I also removed some promotional language, so you may wish to review the article in full. I furthermore added some notations to the article in places where there is still no source citation, or the source cited is connected to Mr. Schwenker (a primary source), or the source did not seem to substantiate the claim in the article text. You may wish to review these and supply additional sources and/or revisions. I will work on the other article Monday. —GrammarFascist contribstalk 19:48, 9 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello GrammarFascist,thank you a lot for your help. Here are additional sources for the specific text passages: -After his successor, Martin C. Wittig, stepped back for health reasons on 4 May 2013, Schwenker resumed his responsibilities as CEO,[3] until Charles-Edouard Bouée was appointed CEO by the Partners. I hope these sources are fine. Also, do you happen to know a German editor, who would be willing to help me with the updates of the German pages? Thanks and kind regards, Franziska Poszler --Franziska Poszler (talk) 14:02, 21 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
