Note: Edit history here is a bit messed up. The Talk page originally here was moved away, perhaps? And a redirect to talk:Bush House (disambiguation) was in place for a long time, instead. --Doncram (talk) 01:55, 8 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

George Orwell

[edit]
mini-discussion restored to here from Talk:Bush House (disambiguation) (which was once here?). --Doncram (talk) 01:55, 8 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the reference to George Orwell having worked at Bush House as it's untrue. Orwell worked for the BBC initially in temporary wartime accommodation at 55 Portland Place, and then (as is well known and documented) at 200 Oxford Street. In his roughly two years with the BBC Orwell may have gone to a meeting at Bush House but it's not likely as it didn't house any part of the BBC with which he was involved. The concept of BBC overseas radio services being all in one place didn't emerge until well after WW2. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vincent Dowd (talkcontribs) 12:22, 18 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
