[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
Moved. See general agreement to grant this request. Hopefully, the proviso left by one supporter, to record "the history of the team's move from professional to university level", and then back to professional level, will be implemented. Have a Great Day and Happy Publishing! (nac by page mover) Paine Ellsworth put'r there 17:26, 19 June 2018 (UTC)
CSU Metal Galați → CSU Galați – The club is presented as CSU Galați, not CSU Metal Galați, from its official website csu-galati.ro to Romanian Volleyball Federation frvolei.ro and voleiromania.ro website voleiromania.ro. When the volleyball section was refounded, the "Metal" part of the name was dropped. Rhinen (talk) 12:46, 30 May 2018 (UTC)--Relisting. Dekimasuよ! 19:48, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
OpposeShould be Clubul Sportiv Universitatea Galați, the full name of the website, but "Metal" should be dropped. Walter Görlitz (talk) 14:35, 30 May 2018 (UTC)- Question, is the current university team the same as the professional women's team? Walter Görlitz (talk) 14:36, 30 May 2018 (UTC)
- Response Yes, it is, the team wasn't dissolved because of bankruptcy, just withdrew from Divizia A1 because of the lack of funds, is a common thing for Romanian clubs to be dissolved and then refounded, at football especially are dissolved through bankruptcy and all the brand and record problems appear, but at the other sports in general if a section of a sports club don't have money, just retire the team. In this case also, only the volleyball section withdrew from the competition, the main club existed at the other sections, in all this time. Echipa gălățeană de volei vrea din nou in liga națională - The volleyball club from Galați want again in the national division. 1 September 2017, in the same article Miss Berdilă (the coach) said: "Am deja 14 sezoane de când antrenez CSU, mai exact din 2003, de când am readus în actualitate această grupare, de mare tradiţie în voleiul românesc." (I have 14 seasons since I coach CSU, more exactly from 2003, when I brought in actuality this club, a club of big tradition in the Romanian Volleyball.) Rhinen (talk) 19:48, 30 May 2018 (UTC)
- Support provided that the history of the teams move from professional to university level is recorded. Walter Görlitz (talk) 19:55, 30 May 2018 (UTC)
- Response the team just promoted back to Divizia A1, it plays at professional level, not university level, the name CSU is from 1953 when the club was founded -> csu-galati.ro, as a university club, but then changed to professional, but "CSU" remained in the name, also in the period when was "CSU Metal". Rhinen (talk) 20:03, 30 May 2018 (UTC)
- But the "official website" states it's at the university level. The article needs to explain this history. Walter Görlitz (talk) 20:11, 30 May 2018 (UTC)
- Where, exactly? frvolei.ro-Promotion Tournament, can't be a university club if it promoted to Divizia A1. I don't think that even exist a University Championship, but I'm not sure, anyway a lot of Romanian clubs has "Universitatea" in their names, because the teams were linked at the beginning of their history with University from their cities, for example at football CS Universitatea Craiova or FC Universitatea Cluj, but are professional, so don't look after that "Universitar", probably the team is helped by the University with players or something, but are not playing in a university championship. Also can be a historical reason for that "Universitar" as at CS Universitatea Craiova, where the University of Craiova don't have any involvment currently. Rhinen (talk) 20:53, 30 May 2018 (UTC)
- http://www.csu-galati.ro/ the official URL according to the article makes it clear. Regardless, write the article to explain the ups and downs of the club. What we have is clearly incomplete. Walter Görlitz (talk) 21:06, 30 May 2018 (UTC)

- Support - we do not use the full name (hence why football clubs are called 'FC' etc.), abbreviating to 'CSU' is fine. GiantSnowman 16:09, 30 May 2018 (UTC)
- @GiantSnowman: The underlying issues is still the same: this appears to be a current university team when the article is about a former professional team and has been hijacked. See https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=CSU_Metal_Gala%C8%9Bi&oldid=815012588, the last state of the article before the changes. 17:25, 30 May 2018 (UTC)— Preceding unsigned comment added by Walter Görlitz (talk • contribs)
- Support – The title of the article should be the actual name of the club. Bankruptcies and name changes are frequent in Romanian sports, keeping the old name would just make everything look outdated.8Dodo8 (talk · contribs) 19:03, 17 June 2018 (UTC)
- But is changing from a professional team to a university team common? I would argue these are two different articles. Walter Görlitz (talk) 20:12, 17 June 2018 (UTC)
