The result of the move request was: no consensus to move, and note that being the original series is not a PT criterion. -- JHunterJ (talk) 12:02, 15 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  1. Captain ScarletCaptain Scarlet (disambiguation)
  2. Captain Scarlet and the MysteronsCaptain Scarlet
ALT: Captain Scarlet (character)Captain Scarlet

The original series Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons is the primary topic. That article should be moved to Captain Scarlet. That will then allow Category:Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons to be moved back to Category:Captain Scarlet, and the sub-categories will be kept at their current short names. – Fayenatic London 11:20, 8 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose moving either Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons or Captain Scarlet (character) to Captain Scarlet. Print and online sources alike list the original TV series by its full, unshortened title (see, for example, its BFI entry). The primary topic for "Captain Scarlet" clearly isn't the character; it will be either the original TV series or its remake. Given that the two series are separated by nearly four decades (with the result that the generation who watched the original is unlikely to have much awareness or appreciation of the remake, and vice versa), I question whether either one is significantly more prominent than the other, and consequently am not convinced that either of them could be regarded as the primary topic. I think that the best solution all round would be to leave the current disambiguation page as it is. SuperMarioMan (Talk) 18:00, 8 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Netoholic: there's a technical objection to changing the category back while Captain Scarlet is a disambiguation page – see BrownHairedGirl's response at Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2020_June_3#Category:Mario_(franchise). I now think Ortizesp has the best idea, so I have struck part 2 of my move proposal. – Fayenatic London 20:42, 9 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the move request was: Not moved. There is no consensus to move here and this request is in essence the same one rejected earlier this month. (closed by non-admin page mover) Calidum 15:21, 26 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Captain ScarletCaptain Scarlet (disambiguation)

  1. Move Captain Scarlet to Captain Scarlet (disambiguation)
  2. Redirect Captain Scarlet to Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons

Revised proposal, as suggested above by user:Ortizesp and which was not opposed. As long as there is no article covering the franchise as a whole, a redirect from Captain Scarlet to the original series (with a {{redirect}} hatnote there) would be the best outcome. The location of a disambiguation page at Captain Scarlet currently causes a problem for naming the category after the general topic i.e. Category:Captain Scarlet (see Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2020_June_3#Category:Mario_(franchise)). – Fayenatic London 10:38, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support per nom.--Ortizesp (talk) 14:38, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose as WP:NOPRIMARY between the character article and any of the specific series. I would only support this move if the redirect was not part of it, and instead a franchise summary page were prepared in Draft space and proposed to move to primary instead. That the people at CFD are being obstructively pedantic is not a valid reason to adjust how the articles are titled. -- Netoholic @ 14:57, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose both. There is no clear primary topic for the term "Captain Scarlet", so it shouldn't redirect to an article on a specific TV series. The disambiguation page should be left at plain "Captain Scarlet" to distinguish between the 1960s series, the remake series and the eponymous fictional character, plus the unrelated film (allowing for misspellings of "Scarlett") that predates them. I see little point in a franchise page as the Captain Scarlet "franchise" (if it can be called that – the term is anachronistic to the 1960s and alien to British television) has only two major components – the 1960s series and its remake – and the likelihood of future expansion is practically zero. In terms of scale it's no Star Trek or Battlestar Galactica. SuperMarioMan (Talk) 17:17, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
