Why Two Infoboxes?[edit]

I don't really understand the benefit of having two infoboxes on the article page. I think it looks a bit sloppy and is confusing to a reader who is unfamiliar with the theatre. Recently, I was bold and created a single infobox that described both the venue and organization in a single location. While I do understand that the editor who reverted my edit to the version of the article with two infoboxes seeks to communicate a distinction between the theatre venue and the theatre company, I think this is best done in the text of the article or by creating two distinct articles, one for the venue and one for the company. I will not revert the current version, because the issue is not so important as to create animosity, but I would encourage the editor who has taken some ownership of this article to consider streamlining it to improve clarity and readability. If you truly need two infoboxes, don't you actually need two articles?ÇaCestCharabia (talk) 17:47, 3 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Please be cautious in suggesting a lack of good faith, as implied by the allegation of taking ownership of the article. As for the substantive matter, I disagree that merging the two infoboxes is helpful, as it diminishes the distinction between the company and the venue. The fact the distinction is elaborated upon in the article mitigates what little, if any, confusiong might be caused. You might be right that two separate articles are warranted, but I am not entirely convinced that it is necessary, given how interrelated the two are and the relative shortness that at least one of those articles might have. • Agent 86, please don't take offense at my note, I chose to comment here on the talk page concerning the 2 infoboxes because I DO assume that the changes you made following my edits were in good faith. I recognize that you have been one of the primary authors of the article and that your opinion concerning its future trajectory is relevant. You didn't agree with the changes that I made and that's fine. I can see your POV concerning a company vs a venue, but I do maintain that the use of two infoboxes in one short article is confusing, unattractive, and unnecessary. I will not make further edits, but hope that future editors who might expand this article considering clarifying its main subject by using either 1 combined infobox or creating separate articles for the company and venue.ÇaCestCharabia (talk) 01:29, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
