Moved as proposed. After extended discussion, consensus is clear. bd2412 T 05:00, 27 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

– No indication that the American politician Carl Zimmermann whose entire political career, which was on the state — not national — level, lasted only two years, has sufficient notability to serve as the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. Likewise, no confirmation that the seven-sentence stub for the 19th-century German theologian Karl Zimmermann has primacy over the stub for the Swiss Karl Zimmermann (shooter) or that the fifteen-sentence entry for the American producer Carl Zimmerman has primacy over the stub for the New Zealand Carl Zimmerman (cricketer). Finally, since Category:Swiss male sport shooters lists Ernst Huber (sport shooter), Kurt Müller (sport shooter), Kurt Rey (sport shooter) or Andrea Rossi (sport shooter), the main title header for Karl Zimmermann (shooter) should be moved to Karl Zimmermann (sport shooter). Also, with the form Carl Zimmermann having four entries (more than any other form), Karl Zimmerman, Karl Zimmermann and Carl Zimmerman should redirect to the Carl Zimmermann disambiguation page which would list all.     Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 01:11, 6 January 2019 (UTC)--Relisting. © Tbhotch (en-2.5). 21:03, 15 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Comment. This makes some sense rather than having multiple hatnotes everywhere, and I see the proposer has added the Karls to the DAB page. But how far do we go with treating similar - even etymologically identical - names as if they were literally identical? Reg Smith and Reg Smythe are separate, for example. 92.249.211.146 (talk) 02:42, 6 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
